This dramatic footage show the changing fortunes of Roona Begum, the eighteen-month-old baby whose head swelled to three-times its normal size. Since being admitted to Fortis Memorial Research Institute hospital in Gurgaon, India, the toddler's head has been reduced from 37ins to around 21ins through a series of life-saving surgeries. Director of neurosurgery Dr. Sandeep Vaishya, who has personally cared for Roona, insists "after a couple more surgeries she will start looking like a normal kid". But Roona's poverty stricken parents, who earn just £2-a-day between them in rural Tripura, need more donations if they are to fund the complex reconstructive procedures needed.
